Snapshot is an undergraduate journal that gives Humboldt University students the chance to publish their first academic paper. Is there a topic you’ve always wanted to write about? If so, then Snapshot might be the right place for you!
Snapshot is edited by students from the HU Language Centre. We want articles and research papers that tell us something new and exciting about the world and raise inspiring, or controversial, questions.
We welcome submissions in English from across the humanities and social sciences. Our emphasis is on contemporary debates within academic disciplines, but we are open to creative writing too. Your paper should focus on something you’re passionate about, and something you want to share with others.
We want papers on:
– interesting contemporary topics, debates, and themes
– exciting ideas conveyed with enthusiasm
– subjects relevant to an academic readership
For sample papers, take a look at last year’s journal.
We are also open to different kinds of content, e.g. drawings, pictures and creative writing and we have an inter-/cross-/trans-disciplinary focus.
Submission guidelines:
Current students at Humboldt University may submit a paper between 1500 and 3500 words in length. Please ensure your submission is as concise as possible before you submit. All submissions should be in PDF or MS Word format. Academic references should be consistent with the author-date citation system you are using (e.g. APA, Chicago).
Send your submissions by or before 10.06.2022 to EITHER of the following email addresses.
paul.joseph.walsh@hu-berlin.de
richard.palomar.vidal@hu-berlin.de
Please put SNAPSHOT JOURNAL in the subject line and include in your email a brief description of your paper or research article, what interests you personally about your chosen topic, and your field of study.
We look forward to hearing from you – and reading your ideas!
